5 Rules of Effective Proofreading

Writing an essay or any other academic paper? This post will tell you about the most effective tips to how to edit a paper. Rule number 1: no editing while writing. Writing and editing should be 2 separate processes, and trying to combine different tasks never works out well. Rule 2: put your paper aside for at least few hours (better if few days) – you need a fresh look to perform the final proofreading well. Rule 3: editing of structure and content come first – don’t start correcting sentences and phrases unless you make sure you’re not going to change or erase them. Rule number 4: read t out loud, it will help you actually FEEL how your writing sounds. And the rule number 5: use helpful services and tools such as your computer’s grammar and spelling check or online services like free essay editor.
